Former favourite back with Leeds

Former Leeds full-back Ian Harte is back with the Whites after linking up with Gary McAllister's side in order to maintain his fitness.

The 31-year-old former fans' favourite made over 200 appearances for the Whites between 1995-2004 before departing for Spanish outfit Levante.

The former Republic of Ireland international returned to English football with Sunderland, but has been without a club since the summer after being released by Roy Keane's side.

Harte was handed a surprise run-out in a Leeds shirt when he featured in a behind-closed-doors game against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

With Leeds currently without first-choice left-back Alan Sheehan (hamstring) McAllister may well hand the dead-ball specialist a short-term contract if he would be willing to play in League One.

With Sheehan out of action Leeds have given a debut to promising teenager Aidan White this term, while more recently Ben Parker has impressed in the role after being given a run in the side.

He's one of my personal favorites and it is great to see him back even if on short term contract. He sure could hit wonder freekicks!
