On Saturday, Portsmouth knocked out fancied Man. Utd. at Old Trafford. Sulley Muntari's penalty 13 minutes from time was enough to condemn Manchester United to a shock defeat and prompt mass celebrations on the south coast.
Muntari's winner came after substitute goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak tripped Milan Baros and was sent off.
Central defender Rio Ferdinand went between the posts but had no chance with the Ghana midfielder's effort.
In the day's other clash Barnsley advanced to the semis with a shock 1-0 win over cup holders Chelsea.
If Saturday's shocks weren't enough, Sunday saw Championship side Cardiff send home side Middlesbrough out 2-0.
Bristol Rovers however saw their fine run end as West Brom won 5-1 away with Ishmael Miller scoring a hattrick.
