Monday: Leeds were in seventh place after Saturday's matches were completed and knew a win would push them into third spot. Jermaine Beckford scored the only goal for his 16th goal and put Leeds back in the hunt.
Leaders Swansea won 3-1 at bottom side Luton, Forest thumped Orient 4-0 and Doncaster edged fellow promotion side Carlisle 1-0.
