Dennis dismissed the previous award by saying, "I'd rather have the fifteen points." This time he thanked everyone, magnanimously saying,

Leeds United manager Dennis Wise has been named the Coca-Cola League One manager of the month for September ahead of Leyton Orient's Martin Ling, Nottingham Forest's Colin Calderwood and Southend United's Steve Tilson. Wise won his second and consecutive title because Leeds won four and drew one of their five matches during September.
Dennis won the August award for United's winning start to the 2007-08 campaign. United won all three of their August League One games, ironically managers of two of those defeated sides were up for the award in September, which provides further proof of just how strong the start to the season has been by Dennis' Leeds United squad.
