ENGLAND Crash Out of EURO 2008

England failed to qualify for Euro 2008 after losing a sensational game against Croatia at Wembley 2-3. McClaren's decision to replace Paul Robinson with Scott Carson backfired as he fumbled Nico Kranjcar's shot into the net and then Ivica Olic slipped in a second.

Beckham made his 99th England appearance and the veteran midfielder set up Peter Crouch for a superb equaliser after Frank Lampard had converted a 56th-minute penalty. But Mladen Petric's 77th minute goal from 25 yards ended England's hopes.
